General
All students that attend Language Centre are offered counselling. The counselling is an important part of the participant’s educational offer.
The individual counselling includes visitation interview, status interview, and interview on education and professional choice, intern ship wishes, attendance or other more personal conversations.
The counselling will make sure the student is offered the education the individual has a need for.
The counselling will also clarify and develop the personal competence in preparation for future business choices.
The counselling takes a starting point in the individuals needs and appears in multiple forms, which the teacher and counsellor are a part of.
The counselling is an offer and organizes some individual and collective counselling. The counsellor has confidentiality.
The purpose of the education and vocational guidance is:
- to assist in the Danish instruction arrangement as best as possible with a starting point in the individuals background and needs.
- the participant is able to make qualified choices under the Danish education courses with reference to the arrangement of later vocational and educational courses.
- to assist in the interaction between the language education and integration issues - and give the participant educational instruction, help with guidance regarding, other language centres, social authority, the employment service, the labour market and local community.
- so that the individual student gets help at solving educational problems and are able to work with personal, social and economical conditions.
Visitation
When a participant is to be enrolled in the language centre, the participant will have an interview with the career adviser. The purpose is to uncover the participant’s Danish language background and be sure the participant is placed in the correct Danish course and the right module.
The participants will also have a general orientation on the schools course offerings, educational model and general rules of the school.
Status interview
The participant will have an individual plan arranged by the counsellor from the status interview, for when the participant is ready for/or needs a”step change”. The participant works with the status interview, counsellor and the caseworker. In addition to this, a teacher or an interpreter can take part in as needed.
The purpose for the status interview is to get the individual participant conscious of their own development and developmental potential, and to give the person concerned the possibility to answer for their own learning and for any other realistic choices concerning the future they come across. The interview will be about taking part in Danish subject level, progression, performance and the other conditions of significance for the Danish education. In the final module, if the participant requires additional information concerning educational and/or vocational guidance, please contact the student counsellor.
