Danish 1
The test consists of both written and oral parts. The written test is taken before the oral. The oral part of the test will be carried out in pairs.
The written test
- Reading comprehension: Consists of two parts.
- Written representation: Consists of three parts.
The oral test
- Oral communication: Consists of three parts.
- Listening comprehension: Consists of two parts.
The test in Danish 1, gives a total grade/mark for the respective tests in the written section (reading comprehension and written representation) and the tests in the oral section (listening comprehension and oral communication). Calculate the average of the tests, and the oral communication counts double.
All dictionaries may be used, however not on the reading comprehension test.
The test is judged by the new 7-step grading scale.
There is no make up test.

Citizenship Test
If you are applying for Danish citizenship, you will need to document knowledge of Danish social conditions, Danish culture and Danish history by proof of a special citizenship test.
On the citizenship test there will be a total of 40 questions about Danish social conditions, Danish culture and Danish history
To pass, you will need to answer 32 out of 40 questions correct. If the applicant does not pass, he or she can try again at the next available test date.
The test is offered two times a year, in June (summer date) and in December (winter date). There is no make up test.
The cost is 636 kroner to take the citizenship test.
Requests to take the citizenship test shall happen by a personal appearance at the language school. In addition to this, there is a condition for request to take the test that you show identification with a photograph issued by a Danish public authority, such as residence card, passport or identity card with photograph issued by a public authority in another EU-member country.
Those taking part in the citizenship test should bring identification to the citizenship examination.
